International Training Camp Eventing with Chris Bartle

Following last year's successful premiere, the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS is once again offering training for eventing riders – this time as the perfect opportunity to prepare for the season in March. Chris Bartle, Eventing High Performance Coach for the British team, will be back to work with international participants and share his valuable and extensive knowledge.

The three-day program includes a diverse agenda:
Day 1: Technical Training Session in an Arena with focus on Main Principles of Cross Country Riding
Day 2: Individual Dressage Session in the Albert-Vahle-Arena
Day 3: Cross Country Session in the original CHIO Aachen Cross Country Course (weather-dependent)

Chris Bartle places particular emphasis on the partnership between horse and rider. “An effective Partnership includes shared responsibilities as well as clear communication,” says the man who was the trainer of the German Eventing Team for 16 years. His philosophy is as follows: “The Rider communicates with the horse through seat position and body language supported by seat, leg and only finally with the hand.” As a trainer, he aims to explain a system or process which the rider can follow even under the pressure of competition.

The supporting program rounds off the holistic offer with a rider fitness session and detailed feed advice. This includes a group workshop and individual consultation, including horse weighing. Stabling for the horse and meals for the participant and one accompanying person are included (lunch and dinner), as well as a power connection for lorries/caravans.
